Outreach Program and Support/Education Groups
Our Outreach Program is a free, safe and confidential service for women 18 years and older, who have experienced abuse in relationships.
The Outreach Worker can meet with you in the safe and comfortable atmosphere of the Shelter, or in a safe place in the community. Childcare can be arranged at the Shelter for women who need to meet with the Outreach Worker.
The Outreach Program focuses on each woman’s individual situation and needs. Some of the types of support provided are:
Safety Planning: Information about ways to increase your safety whether you choose to stay in or leave your relationship.
Advocacy and Accompaniment Services: Assistance with understanding and protecting your rights when dealing with government, legal and community agencies. The Outreach Worker can assist with calls, help with writing documents or accompany clients to appointments and court. Assistance with childcare and transportation can be arranged for women who are attending appointments and court.
